For more than four decades, Balistreri Realty has been providing buyers, sellers and developers of properties superior real estate services and a whole lot more—including relocation services, mortgages, title insurance and land surveys. Joseph S. Balistreri, who had relocated his family and real estate business from Wisconsin to South Florida, established the company—then operating as Joseph S. Balistreri, Inc.—as primarily a residential brokerage in Pompano Beach in 1964. After initial careers in the military and in construction management, his sons Joe and Jim earned their real estate credentials and joined the firm.

In 1991, Joseph S. Balistreri retired. Joe and Jim, by then seasoned veterans in the business, bought the firm. They renamed it Balistreri Realty, and immediately set about its growth, building rapidly on the foundation their father had established.

Under their stewardship, Balistreri Realty went from a 65-Associate sales force in one location to a 225-Associate sales force in six regional sales centers, each with a veteran, top-producing sales manager at the helm.

They created an in-house marketing/media relations department to provide maximum exposure and support for the company’s associates and their clients.

They added the “one-stop-shopping” concept to Balistreri Realty to the firm's business practice, putting under one roof real estate-related services clients might need—relocation and vacation-home services through Leading Real Estate Companies of the World^™, REFNET^® and Realty Referral Network^®; title insurance and closing services through Integrity Title; and mortgage financing through InTouch Mortgage.

Joe and Jim expanded the company’s scope of service to include commercial and business-opportunity brokerage, as well as new-development and multiunit sales, creating separate divisions to handle each specialized area.

They also initiated a rigorous training and professional-development program to upgrade Associates’ skills and give them a competitive edge in all aspects of real estate.

MANAGEMENT AND KEY PERSONNEL James M. Balistreri, CRB, CIPS ― Chief Executive Officer Prior to joining Balistreri Realty, Jim was a project manager and estimator for a major commercial general-contracting firm. Jim holds Florida real estate broker, general contractor and mortgage broker licenses, and has earned his Certified Residential Broker and Certified International Property Specialist designations. A former president of the Fort Lauderdale Association of REALTORS^®, Jim also served many years as a director of the Florida Association of REALTORS^®and currently is FAR's vice president for its 11th District (South Florida). A luminary among real estate experts, Jim often is called upon for his experience and expertise.
Joseph E. Balistreri, GRI ― President Joe served in the United States Army (achieving the rank of E-5 before being honorably discharged) before becoming a licensed real estate professional. Working under his father (then owner), Joe built a very successful business in real estate sales. As the years progressed, Joe took on the day-to-day operations and management of the company. In 1991, Joe and brother Jim bought the business from their father. Joe is CEO of Integrity Title and InTouch Mortgage, two Balistreri Family Enterprises companies.
Ann DeFries ― Manager, Greater Boca Raton and Parkland Ann confidently is at the helm of Balistreri Realty's regional sales center in the heart of Boca Raton, A REALTOR^® for almost two decades, she has earned an enviable reputation in the industry locally, regionally and nationally for her advocacy of and adherence to high professional standards. She is the immediate past president of the REALTOR^® Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale and has been named 2008 national president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS^®.
Carol Balistreri ― Manager, Lighthouse Point Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in real estate sales, Carol has been instrumental to the continued success of Balistreri Realty's Lighthouse Point sales center. Her hands-on management style and reputation as a pro-active manager is appreciated by the her sales staff and our clients.
Carlos de Salazar ― Manager, Greater Fort Lauderdale Carlos entered the real estate business as a junior in college and immediately fell in love with the business. Having been a Top Producer in real estate sales for both National and locally owned real estate firms, Carlos was managing a large office in Miami before joining Balistreri Realty to run the Fort Lauderdale office, just a block from the Intracoastal. His enthusiasm and years of experience in sales and training and his practical management style have endeared many agents to him.
Christine Van Buskirk ― Director of Relocation Christine helped launch Balistreri Realty's Relocation Division in 2002. Working with a strong team of our associates who specialize in relocation, Christine has helped to establish our firm as a leading provider of relocation services in South Florida, leveraging the awesome power of our global network, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World^™. Christine has earned credentials as a world referral specialist (WRS) and RELO certified coordinator (RCC), and is the firm's facilitator for the Realty Referral Network (RRN).
